About the Artist
Linda de Mestre is an autodidact realist painter who has received training at evening colleges, art schools and centres as well as private tutors over many years.
Linda is experienced in folk art painting as well as oil painting techniques, still life, mixed media, drawing, water colour and acrylics.
Developing a love for all things natural her paintings portray the beauty, lushness, power and rawness of nature. Holidays by the sea have inspired her wave paintings. Watching the different colours in the changing tides is reflected in these paintings.
Linda's art is contemporary and she works mainly in oils. Use of primary and secondary colours help to create paintings that are three dimensional and realistic.
Linda lives on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and is a member of an artist co-operative called “Northern Expressions”.
My desire is to create images of natural surroundings including the beauty, shapes and colours of flowers, the power and energy of waves and the lushness and sensualness of ripe fruit and vegetables.
